The Ottawa Numismatic Society /La Société de numismatique d’Ottawa (ONS/SNO) is committed to protecting and safeguarding your privacy. 

We are committed to protecting the privacy of all our visitors and members while they interact with the content, products and services on this website (the “Site”).  This Privacy Policy applies to the Site only. It does not apply to other websites to which we link.  Because we gather certain types of information about our users, we want you to understand what information we collect about you, how we collect it, how that information is used, and how you can control our disclosure of it. 

You are agreeing that your use of the Site signifies your assent to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Site.

Your Personal Information

Personal information like your name, address, phone number and e-mail address is obtained only when voluntarily submitted when you i) sign up as a member, ii) make purchases, iii) consent to receive email or text messages about upcoming promotions or events, iv) consent to receive email, v) participate in our forums and blogs, vi) comment on articles/blogs, and/or other site activities.  When you choose to use these additional features, we require you to provide your “Contact Information” in addition to other personal information that may be required to complete a transaction such as your phone number, billing and shipping addresses and 3rd party payment system information.

How we protect your Personal Information

ONS/SNO is concerned about the security of your information. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Data collected is hosted in secure facilities in Canada and the US. We use industry standard SSL encryption technology when collecting or transferring sensitive data. We use either e-transfers or Affinipay to process payments; we do not request or store credit card data on our servers. Your payment information and email are subject to Affinipay policies. 

How We Share It

The ONS/SNO will not trade, sell or share any personal information. By voluntarily supplying us with contact information on the ONS/SNO membership application form, in contact through e-mails, or by allowing us to send you ONS/SNO E-Bulletins, you are not authorizing us to use this information for any purpose other than what it was intended for.

Emails       

The email address you provide when you become a member may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your membership, your purchases or donations, or general ONS/SNO news. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include an Unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email.  Members also have the option to update their membership profiles on the Site with a specific request to block certain e-mails. You can also email us at info@snoons.wildapricot.com to request an update to your email address, or to request that we unsubscribe your email.

Statistical and cookie information

·    Cookies are small data files that are issued to your device when you visit a website and that store information about your use of the website. URL query strings are small amounts of data transmitted as part of a URL (e.g., website address) when you click on a hyperlink or submit a form in an internet browser.

The ONS/SNO also uses interfaces with social media sites such as Facebook, and others. If you are a member of a social media site, the interfaces may allow the social media site to connect your visits to this site with other Personal Information.

While these rights are not applicable globally, all users of our products or services can manage and revise their personal information in their Membership Profile within the "Members Area" on our website or by ONS/SNO contact hyperlink. We may request that you provide us with personal information to verify your identity before we can disclose, change, or delete any personal information related to your account.

To modify or delete the personal information you have provided to us, please log in to the "Members Area" and update your information or ONS/SNO contact hyperlink.

To delete your account, please contact ONS/SNO contact hyperlink. We may retain certain information as required by law or as necessary for our legitimate business purposes.

Residents of European Union member states have the right to restrict or object to the processing of their personal information under certain circumstances (e.g., to contest the accuracy of the data).
